Dating as far back to 13th century, ‘kawung’ is Batik pattern originated from the Majapahit era, a four lobed stylized flower pattern representing the cross section of the palm fruit (Kawung), as a symbol of power and prestige, heavily associated with Javanese royal and aristocracies.
